**Aqdot, the UK-based Chemtech company, has strengthened its commercial team with the appointment of a new business development professional.**
**Louise Hedges** has joined Aqdot in the newly created role of Business Development Leader in the air quality sector. She will be focusing on new and existing products in the Household, Industrial and Professional sector as well as Personal Care, Pet Care, and after-market Car Care. Louise will be developing the business with Aqdot’s own AqFresh™ supra-molecular chemistry as well as opportunities for white label odour elimination products for UK, USA, Canada and the Nordics.
Louise joins Aqdot from ALFA Chemicals, a leading speciality chemicals distributor, where she was business development manager for their Industrial Chemicals division, with previous experience at Croda Chemicals.
Louise graduated from Newcastle University with a BSc, Honours Chemistry with Applied Chemistry. She also studied an MBA at The Open University.
Louise Hedges said: “Aqdot has a highly talented team of scientists who are continually innovating and developing revolutionary new applications for the new, breakthrough AqFresh™ [odour capture](https://aqdot.com/products/advanced-odour-elimination/) technology which works across a broad spectrum of industries. It’s so effective it needs no masking fragrance and so versatile it can be incorporated into powders, liquids, sprays, coatings, plastic master-batches, films, and filters.”
“The business has also developed the high performance AqStar® emulsification technology and the ground-breaking gene delivery technology AqGene™, which uses unique non-viral supramolecular polymer particles to unlock the potential of gene therapies for improving patient lives.”
“Aqdot’s proprietary transformational chemtech has significant potential to unlock a wide range of game-changing innovation opportunities for manufacturers. I am very excited to be joining at a time when the company is in significant growth.”
Tim Wright, chief executive of Aqdot, said: “Louise is a very welcome addition to the Aqdot commercial team.
“Aqdot is dedicated to commercialising the chemistry we have developed, and her speciality chemicals business development experience will further our capabilities to achieve this.
“Ambitious plans to work with distributors and customers in a wide range of sectors, from personal care and professional cleaning to agriculture are core to our business and Louise’s expertise will prove invaluable.”
